Explore the Center’s non-partisan framework–rooted in storytelling, critical thinking skills, and dialogue–as a means to dive into Supreme Court cases. Engage with ways to incorporate the stories at the heart of cases, constitutional questions justices use to rule on the case, and the methods of dialogue used to write opinions.

This session aims to empower educators to serve as powerful advocates for K-12 civics education at the local, state, and federal level. We'll review the current policy landscape, explore educators' role in policy making, develop action plans and tools for civics advocacy, and put it all to use when we meet directly with legislators and their staff during the afternoon session.

Engage in a train-the-trainer session to deepen learning about how juries work and why they are so integral to our overall judicial system. This session will entail an overview of what juries are, why they exist, and how everyday Americans can participate in the judicial process through jury duty.
This session will be led by The Juror Project: an initiative aiming to increase the diversity of jury panels while changing and challenging people’s perspective of jury duty.

Help us make the case to policy makers that civic learning matters!  We’ll review key data on civics education policy, and head to the Wisconsin Capital. There we will meet with legislators and their staff to share information, hear ideas/concerns, and make the case for strengthening civic learning in Wisconsin schools. The morning workshop is recommended, but not required, for participation in briefing day.
