About me
Kara is an Academic Officer specializing in inquiry-based teaching in STEM and social studies. As the author of 50 Strategies for Teaching STEAM Skills, she champions innovative approaches to education. With experience as a District Elementary STEM Education Specialist and K-5 educator in both general and special education, Kara develops professional development that empowers teachers to foster curiosity and critical thinking. A 2018 State Teacher of the Year and Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator finalist, she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focused on gender inequity in STEM at Walden University. Kara’s work inspires educators and students to engage deeply with inquiry and discovery.
