About me

Shawn McCusker is an author and Senior Director of Professional Learning at EdTechTeacher. He has 25 years of experience as a teacher and leader in public, private and alternative schools. Shawn is the author of Becoming Active Citizens, winner of the 2022 Foreword INDIES Gold Award for Education. His column “The Tech Savvy Classroom” appeared in Digital Learning magazine. As a teacher and expert in technology integration his lessons and student products have been featured in the Journal, Educational Leadership and the Huffington Post. In 2006, he was recognized as a finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching and 2016 he was named a Top Trailblazing Educator on Twitter by eSchoolNews. Shawn specializes in implementing innovative instructional practices and has worked extensively supporting schools in underserved areas across the US and Canada.
